Sleep Right

Sleep Right is a free support service, that helps parents and carers of disabled children to improve their child's sleep. Face-to-face sessions are now available, but you can continue with sessions over the phone and online, if you prefer. Sleep Right services support you to modify and adjust your child’s bedtime behaviours. We are not able to prescribe any form of sleep medication.

Our research work across neurodevelopmental conditions gives us a unique perspective within the charity research sector allowing us to provide research-driven solutions and advice to those who need it most.

Our guides, factsheets and other resources offer comprehensive and current information on a wide variety of issues – physical, social and legal – that parents and carers of children with brain conditions may be facing. Services available include a Sleep Advice Service, the Cerebra Innovation Centre, our book and toy library and LEaP, our innovative problem-solving project that runs alongside our Legal Advice Service.  https://cerebra.org.uk/get-advice-support/sleep-advice-service/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1Mfhyc-ohAMV1ZlQBh1G2QuJEAAYASABEgIHSPD_BwE

National Sleep Helpline – The Sleep Charity

Do you struggle to fall asleep?  Do you feel tired? Do you have a child who won’t sleep in their own bed?

Having a sleep issue is surprisingly common. At any given time up to 40% of adults and 50% of children (this rises to 80% with a SEND diagnosis) have difficulties with their sleep. Yet in a recent survey, almost 60% of adults felt there was a lack of support for sleep issues. Sleep problems can leave people feeling isolated and lonely.

Our helpline is run by a team of specialist trained sleep advisors. Although we cannot give medical advice, we can talk through your issues, offer you some practical strategies and recommend services that could help.

Sleep education is empowering – you can understand why you might not be sleeping well and how that can change. We promise to listen without judgement and help you decide what next steps are right for you.

If you are looking for advice and support and the helpline isn’t open, please visit our Information and Support pages or our list of helpful organisations
