National Targets for Research

← Back to Research

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust clinical trial performance is shown in the initiation and delivery of all clinical trials approved by the Trust.  The Trust has to report key dates during the set-up of trials to the NIHR.

  • Initiation: it should take no more than 70 days from receipt of valid research application (valid UK Local Information Pack) by the R&I Department to the recruitment of (i.e., consenting) of the first patient into the trial.

  • Delivery: for all commercial clinical trials hosted by the Trust, the agreed number of patients must be recruited within the agreed recruitment period.

The Trust submits quarterly performance reports to the Department of Health setting out our performance. Clinical Trail Performance data is submitted to the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) for publication, you can view the submissions on the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) website.
