Talbot Butler ward is located in area G.
From the South entrance, turn left onto the Hospital Street corridor. Proceed along the corridor passing the pharmacy and restaurant. Talbot Butler Ward will be on your right.
From the Billing Road entrance, proceed along the corridor until you reach a T-junction. Turn left and follow the corridor, bearing right when you pass the PALS office and continuing past the Oncology Centre, until you come to the Hospital Street junction. Turn left. Talbot Butler ward will be along the corridor on your left after the Haematology department.

About us
Talbot Butler is a 24 bedded oncology and haematology ward. It has 16 side rooms and 2 bays of 4 beds.
Patients are admitted via several routes:
- the emergency department
- outpatient clinics
- a referral by their GP
- planned treatment
Emergency assessment bay
Talbot Butler also has an emergency assessment bay (EAB). Patients who attend this area are on active oncological or haematological treatments and present as emergency admissions. The EAB is a 24 hour service and ensures our patients get the correct treatments to manage complications and or side effects of their treatments in a timely manner. Registered nurses, healthcare assistants, admin staff, therapists, physician associates and doctors all work on the ward and EAB.
