Senior clinical vascular scientist - Angela Martin

Angela is the senior clinical vascular scientist within vascular studies and was appointed in 2001.  She oversees the day-to-day running of the unit and has trained some of the current staff.  Previously she worked and trained in the clinical measurement department at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary.  She has more than 15 years' experience in vascular ultrasound.

Clinical vascular scientist - Jenny Grace

After graduating from Northampton University with a BSc(Hons) Biology, Jenny joined the vascular studies unit in 2004 as a trainee.  As part of her training she completed a postgraduate diploma in medical ultrasound in 2006 and went on to achieve accreditation with the Society of Vascular Technology in 2007.

Trainee vascular scientist - Kate Hammond

Kate came to vascular studies in 2008 to begin her training as a clinical vascular scientist.  She has successfully completed her postgraduate certificate in vascular ultrasound and is working towards becoming a fully accredited staff member.  Before coming to the unit she worked as a research scientist and achieved a PhD in the field of neuroscience.

Technical assistant - Sue Ellis

Sue joined the vascular studies unit in 2003 as a technical assistant after a long-standing clerical career.  She plays an integral role organising workloads and appointments.  She is the first point of contact for patients visiting the unit, dealing with their enquiries and preparing them for their investigation.

Vascular nurse specialist - Liz Earby

Liz is the vascular nurse specialist and she came into post by leading a research project in 1996.  Her passion for vascular disease led her to develop the vascular nursing service, providing expertise in wound care, intermittent claudication, nurse-led vascular clinics and ongoing research.  She has more than 18 years' experience of nursing vascular patients.

Vascular nurse practitioner - Sally Wagstaff

Sally is the vascular nurse practitioner in the vascular studies unit.  She trained at Northampton General Hospital and qualified as a registered general nurse in 1988.  She worked on the vascular ward for 14 years and then in the anticoagulant service for two and a half years before taking up her present post in June 2005.
