Our training is managed by an outstanding simulation training team.
"I provide clinical simulation training, running scenarios tailored to the needs of the undergraduate medical students. I help to provide a supportive environment to develop clinical skills and non-clinical skills required for graduates. I am a registered nurse with a background in critical care and post-anaesthetic recovery."
Tobias Eve, simulation trainer and undergraduate lead
"I am the simulation lead for the learning from error (LFE) ward training programme. This involves running scenarios based on common errors that have occurred in healthcare. The participants explore the human factors which contribute to errors, and learn ways in which they can behave to improve patient safety."
Mary Burt, clinical simulation trainer
"In the Simulation suite I wirelessly control the manikins from a control room, and respond appropriately to the management delivered by the staff involved in the session. I also take part directly in these sessions - for example, acting as nurse to assist the doctor or medical student within the scenario itself, I am involved in the debrief process."
Gemma Denny, clinical simulation technician
"My role is to manage the simulation team and the daily running of the simulation suite. I meet with the regional simulation network and leads for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing programmes, plan and develop courses. I work strategically with our simulation DME lead and our QI safety lead to plan the development of the simulation suite reporting activity to our stakeholders and executive team."
