Northampton General Hospital (NGH) provides a full range of general hospital services for the south of Northamptonshire, and more specialist services for a wider area. The Trust provides a full Accident and Emergency service, speciality acute services as well as delivering obstetrics and maternity services.

Patient Advice and Liaison (PALS) |
The PALS advice and guidance service is here to help NHS Patients. It provides the means to:
- Advise and support patients, their families, and carers
- Provide information on NHS Services
- Listen to your concerns, suggestions, or queries
- Help sort out problems quickly on your behalf

Chaplaincy, Spiritual and Pastoral Care |
Coming into hospital, even for a short stay, can be a difficult time. If you are feeling low, the ward staff are there for you to share any concerns with and we also have chaplains and volunteers who can spend time with you.
Our Chaplains/Spiritual Caregivers in the hospital are trained professionals bound by the NHS rules of confidentiality. They are available 24 hours a day, visiting wards regularly and are available to listen to and support our patients.
If you, a relative or a friend would like to speak to one of our chaplains/ Spiritual Caregivers or find out about volunteers working on the ward, then please let the nurse in charge of your care know.

Training and Educational opportunities at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust |
The Trust has a full and comprehensive Training and education programme for staff including Professional and Practice Development.
In addition to an active in-house training programme accessible to all staff, the trust is working in partnership with South Leicestershire College and Skillspoint on a highly successful NVQ programme.
The Cripps Postgraduate Medical Centre (Cripps PGMC) oversees the training and appraisal of doctors in training and is an outstanding facility for education, training and professional development. The Cripps staff is the link between the LNR Healthcare Workforce Deanery and the NGH Trust, headed by the District Clinical Tutor and Centre Manager. An Undergraduate Tutor is in charge of undergraduate education, and liaises with Oxford and Leicester Medical Schools. In addition there is a Director of Medical Education who has a wider remit for educational issues within the Trust.
