International nurses

When you come to Northampton to work with us, you’ll be supported by our international preceptorship team, based at our on-site Practice Development Hub.

We’ll support you as you undertake our international preceptorship programme and clinical skills week. We will also support you with any mandatory training required to adapt your current skills to become a confident practitioner in the UK.

Built into our preceptorship programme are proactive days where you are supported to engage in your area under a supernumerary status, allowing you to link training theory to your practice.

If you need to undertake the NMC Test of Competence, we provide focussed OSCE preparation training using realistic clinical scenarios to give you the best chance of passing. With the UK’s best first-time pass rate for OSCE examinations, our preparation scheme has a proven track record of success.

Helping you to settle in

We will do everything we can to settle into your new life and career in the UK. We’ll help you with the practicalities of moving to a new country, with advice on finding accommodation, setting up a bank account, and information about applying for local schools and general health services.

You’ll be welcomed by your ward team and you’ll have the support network of our existing international nurses who are happy to help new recruits.
