Gill A

Gill Ashworth - Associate Director

Working within the director of nursing, midwifery & patient services corporate team, I lead a group of passionate practice development nurses and midwives who lead by example and have the delivery of the best possible care to our patients and their families at the heart of everything they do on our Pathway to Excellence.

Moya Flaherty

As head of professional development I lead the practice development team with Gill. I am passionate about excellence in nursing and strive to bring everyone together to deliver the best possible care to our community.

If you join us in Northampton you can be assured we will invest in your education because we know how important it is.

Claire Ault

I lead the preceptorship programmes for both new registrants, return to practice and nurses recruited from outside of the UK, providing a formal preceptorship programme to further enhance and develop knowledge and skills and also provide peer support.  I also lead on supporting our international nurses preparing for the NMC Test of Competence part 2 test (OSCE).

As a proud career nurse I have worked in practice development for the latter of my 37 years as a nurse. Offering support and advice for staff, I am committed to facilitating practice to the highest levels of their ability and engaging with the career pathway they chose, to maximize success and provide better care for patients and staff wellbeing.

I joined NGH in 2002 working for trauma and orthopaedics, theatre and then pain services. Since joining the practice development team, my primary role is to work one-to-one with staff in the clinical setting, supporting them in practice and assisting them to achieve excellence in their career goals.

 

Andrew Feltham (Andy)

Andrew Feltham

I love the challenges that my role as clinical skills educator brings. Having worked here as an oncology nurse for over a decade I now deliver and coordinate the clinical skills training you receive when you join Team NGH. This training package will give you the tools you need to hit the ground running in your new job.

Marie Marshall

I lead the Maternity Practice Development Team, if you choose the join our inspirational group of midwives and MSWs, my team will develop and support you
in all areas of your practice. You’ll have the opportunity to attend locally facilitated multi-professional training days including PROMPT, fetal monitoring and NLS.

 

Mandy M

Mandy Massey

I am a registered nurse with 28 years’ NHS experience. I am responsible for the ongoing professional development of our Band 7 nurses by coordinating and delivering our in-house educational programme. I support nursing pilot projects and the implementation of new processes or ways of working

I have a particular interest in quality improvement and I’m dedicated to improving the quality and safety of patient care.

I have real a passion and commitment to Medicine and Urgent Care at NGH having worked in the division since qualifying in 2003. I have a good understanding of the directorate and the pressures we all face. I want to promote learning and development for all nurses and HCA’s throughout the division and make it easier for you to access it so that we can provide the best possible care to all of our patients.

Melanie Rowland

I’m passionate about supporting and educating our Band’s 2 – 4 staff. I recruit Health Care Assistants and provide a three week Support Worker Programme, which prepares our staff with the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide the best possible care for our patients.

 

Judy Turland

Valuing our amazing support workers, we embraced the launch of the National Care Certificate which introduces common training standards transferrable across health and social care. I deliver the six facilitated study days which are allocated to ensure that our support workers are inspired, coached and motivated to achieve this national award.
