2015 staff survey results are encouraging
The results of the 2015 annual NHS staff survey demonstrate that the efforts made to address areas of concern previously raised by NGH staff are now having an effect. Not only has overall engagement improved, but there are also significant improvements in nine key areas, which include the number of staff who would recommend NGH as a place to work or receive treatment.
'The results of the survey are encouraging and I'm pleased that almost 1500 members of staff took the time to let us know their views.' said Dr Swart, chief executive. 'It's important that we listen and learn from what our staff tell us, so we'll be looking closely at the feedback to develop and implement a plan of action to address their concerns.'
'Making improvements at all in the current environment is testament to the hard work of many of our teams. However, we know there is more to be done to help everyone feel part of team NGH, so they feel they can really make a difference to the care they give.'
'Our new health and wellbeing strategy is the start of the work we are doing that will focus specifically on supporting the physical and mental health of our staff, and demonstrates that this is an issue which we take very seriously.'
Janine Brennan, director of workforce & organisational development, said 'I want to thank all our staff who took the time to offer feedback through the staff survey. I'm happy to see that we're moving in the right direction and made some significant improvements on previous years. There's clearly still a lot of work to be done and, with this feedback, we can make the changes that we know really matter to our staff and, ultimately, improve our organisation.'
