NGH hosts visit from Lynne Wigens, Chief Nurse NHS England (Midlands and East)
Lynne Wigens, Chief Nurse, NHS England (Midlands and East), visited NGH on Wednesday 12th April 2016. She spent two hours visiting wards and speaking with nurses and midwives in areas and wards as diverse as the Barratt Birthing Centre, paediatrics, medicine, surgery and A&E.
Following her visit Lynne commented that NGH had a ‘great nursing and midwifery team’. She also asked that NGH nominate a ward sister to join a Nursing & Midwifery Council working group looking at new nursing standards.
Carolyn Fox, director of nursing, midwifery and patient experience at NGH, said ‘It was a pleasure to host the visit and I am delighted that the commitment and passion of our nurses and midwives at NGH has been recognised at a national level. I am confident that Stacey Cheney, our sister on Cedar Ward, will be able to make a positive and valued contribution to the working group.’
