Notice of appointment of external auditors
Within 28 days of an appointment being made, NHS Trusts are required to publish a notice to name the appointed external auditor; the length of the appointment; the advice, or a summary of the advice to the Governing Body, received from the auditor panel; and, where it has not accepted that advice, the reasons why not.
Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust has appointed an local external auditor in line with the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. Following due process KPMG LLP have been appointed for a period of four years commencing 1 April 2017. The appointment was made on the advice of the Local Auditor Panel which met on 30th September 2016 and reviewed in full the report of the procurement exercise undertaken.
The Local Auditor panel agreed the procurement process followed using the Crown Commercial Service framework agreement and recommended the appointment of the preferred bidder following evaluation. The Trust Board accepted the recommendation of the local auditor panel and agreed the appointment via Chairs’ action on 27th October 2016.
