NORTHAMPTON GENERAL HOSPITAL has announced a new partnership with Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire (VIN) which will see greater involvement of the voluntary sector in helping NGH meet the needs of patients, carers and their families.

NGH introduces new measures to learn from patients' experience

Description
Former patients and their families shared their experience of care at the hospital and were invited to share their thoughts on what might make every patients' care a positive experience. A random selection of 26 patients who were inpatients in May were invited to attend the event with their families.

NGH is a baby-friendly hospital - and that's official!

Description
Northampton General Hospital has scooped a prestigious baby friendly award, the latest UK health care facility to win international recognition from children's rights organisation Unicef. The Baby Friendly Initiative, set up by Unicef (United Nation's Children's Fund) and the World Health Organisation, is a global programme which provides a practical and effective way for health services to improve the care provided for all mothers and babies.

NGH pilots student nurse training programme

Description
Two wards at Northampton General Hospital are piloting a new student placement model which could transform the way student nurses are trained at the hospital. Northampton General Hospital and the University of Northampton have designed the programme, known as PL@N (Practice Learning at Northampton General Hospital), which is being trialled on Rowan and Knightley wards from this month.
