Services
Our dedicated integrated dermatology outpatient unit provides dermatology services for Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties. We also provide a Teledermatology service.
Patients may be referred to the consultants by GPs or hospital consultants.
There are:
- 4 consulting rooms where patients are seen by doctors
- 2 procedure/minor surgery rooms where clean skin procedures are carried out
- 1 minor surgery theatre
- 2 nurses treatment rooms for specialist nurse treatments
- 1 recovery/procedure/treatment room – used for patients post surgery if necessary also for patch testing, Iontophoresis and hand and foot PUVA
- 1 ultra violet therapy room – used for whole body light therapy
- Main reception and waiting room
- Male, Female and assisted toilet facilities

What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring with you a list of your current medication and any other relevant information regarding your referral.
Also bring with you a map of the hospital (enclosed in first appointment letter) to ensure you find your way to the Department.
How much time should I allow before my appointment?
If possible we would like you to book in at reception at least 10 minutes before your appointment is due.
At least 30 minutes should be allowed for parking.

The team consists of consultants, clinical assistants, senior house officers and a specialist nursing team.

Some patients with wound care problems can be referred direct to the dermatology nursing team by community nurses
Please do not think your appointment has been overlooked if other patients are seen before you. They may not have the same consultant as you.
